A brand-new event has been added to the CinefestOZ Film Festival calendar this year, this FREE event is set to fully immerse the local community in the festival week highlighting Indigenous films, film guests, foods, arts and products. Community Day will also include the Virtual Whadjuk experience and the IndigestOZ Restrospective filmmaker Q&A.
Kicking off with the IndigifestOZ Retrospective filmmaker Q&A, the FREE event will be hosted at the Busselton Tennis Club utilising its wonderful new clubhouse and surroundings by setting up marquees, stalls, food trucks, and short film viewing areas for the public to enjoy.

Virtual Whadjuk – a VR experience
Indigenous short films

Stalls with Aboriginal health, arts and produce: Undalup Association, S.W.A.M.S, Deadly Denim Coffee and food – Loveacup, The Gosling Food Van, free cultural food tasters by Undalup Association

Virtual Whadjuk
Using the VR headsets, experience Virtual Whadjuk the unique interactive documentary experience blends new mapping technologies, accurately generated landscapes, botanical data, 3D animation and interactive tasks with traditional documentary elements, giving users an Aboriginal body in which to experience a robust and deeply spiritual culture in the hours and moments before the first ship of European colonists arrived.

No tickets required to watch Virtual Whadjuk.

2.30pm:  Community Film - Lantana
To round of the Community Day experience, pop down to Orana Cinemas for a FREE screening of Lantana, featuring Aboriginal actor Leah Purcell, an icon on stage and screen. Secure your tickets HERE!
